Tejmal S. Rathore (SM’ 81) was born in Jhabua, India. He received the B. Sc., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees all in electrical engineering from the University of Indore, Indore, India, in 1965, 1970, and 1976, respectively., From 1965 to 1978, he was at GS Institute of Technology and Science, Indore. In 1978, he joined Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he has been a Professor since 1986. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada from 1983 to 1985, and a Visiting Researcher at the University of South Australia, Adelaide, in 1993. He has published more than 175 papers in international research journals. He is the author of the book Digital Measurement Techniques (New Delhi, India: Narosa, 1996). His areas of teaching and research interest are electronic-aided instrumentation, knowledge-based intelligent systems, and signal processing., Dr. Rathore received the IETE MN Saha Award for the best paper published in 1997. He was a Guest Editor for the Special Issue on Instrumentation Electronics of the Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India) in 1991, and is a Regional Editor for Knowledge-Based Intelligent Systems. He is a member of ISTE, and a Fellow of IETE (India) and IE (India). He has worked as a Member (1998), Hony Secretary (1999–2000, 2000–2001), and Chairman (2001–2002) of the Executive Committee of IETE Mumbai Center. He is the Coordinator for writing solution manuals, arranging coaching classes, and NORAD for IETE (India). He is one of the organizing members for the IETE International Symposium on Quality Reliability and Control, December 2001, and the National Communications Conference, January 2002.
